Will a mechanical seal run on my equipment?

Here’s how to tell:

1.        Most seals are designed to fit ANSI style pumps. Check the seal data sheet for dimensional info on each shaft size.

2.        Check the speed of your shaft, pressure and other operating conditions to be sure the seal you choose will handle them.

3.        Match the product you are pumping with the proper seal materials. It has to be constructed of materials that can handle exposure to your product.

4.        Check the condition of your sleeve. It may be too worn for a conventional cartridge seal and may require a split or outside running design.

5.       The best way to be sure is to contact your Indcon rep and have him make sure it’s the proper match.
